The use of the word customer in this policy is limited to the meaning as defined in FDIC Rules and Regulations, Part 332—Privacy of Consumer Financial Information.

Collection, Use and Retention of Customer Information
The Bank collects, retains and uses customer information for the purpose of administering its business, providing customer products and services, and complying with legal and regulatory requirements.  Farmers State Bank may also use this information to help identify additional products or services which it believes customers might want to know about.

Farmers State Bank does not share its customer information with outside organizations except for routine processing of transactions at the customer’s request and as otherwise permitted or required by law.  Farmers State Bank may disclose the following information to other financial institutions with which it has joint marketing agreements:  name, address, telephone number, and account balances.

Accuracy of Information
The Bank makes every effort to maintain the most up-to-date, complete and accurate customer and account information.  If you believe any information retained by the Bank is inaccurate, please call us toll free at (866) 398-2336.  We pledge to respond to requests to correct inaccurate information in a timely manner.

Employee Access to Customer Information
Customer information is accessible only by employees authorized or having a legitimate business reason for such information.  Bank employees are governed by a code of ethics that includes the responsibility to protect the confidentiality of customer information. Appropriate disciplinary measures are in place to enforce that responsibility.

Security of Your Information
The Bank maintains appropriate security safeguards and procedures regarding customer information.  All of its operational and data processing systems are in a secure environment that protects your account information from being accessed by third parties.  It maintains and grants access to customer information only in accordance with its internal security standards.

Disclosure of Account Information
The Bank does not reveal specific information about customers or their accounts to unaffiliated third parties with the following exceptions:

  1. If the information is provided to help complete a customer-initiated transaction.
  2. If the customer requests it.
  3. If the information is required for legitimate bank use, in accordance with applicable law and standard banking practices.  This includes information provided to attorneys, collection agencies, and credit reporting agencies for the purposes of collecting debt, verifying a customer’s existence, and verifying a customer’s account(s) condition.
  4. If the information is required or allowed by law (for example, a subpoena or court order to produce records regarding the customer’s account relationship with the Bank).  In such instances, information provided is limited to that required by the specific law.
  5. If the information is required by a bank auditor or examiner for the purpose of completing an official audit or regulatory examination of the bank.
  6. To make available products or services that are offered by a third party who is under contract to provide these services.  These companies or vendors must sign a confidentiality agreement to respect the privacy of our customer information provided

The Bank may share your nonpublic personal information such as names, address, telephone number and account balances, with a non-affiliated thirty party with whom it has a joint marketing agreement, namely, Randall Brehmer, a Registered Representative for Woodbury Financial Services, Inc.

Third Party Privacy Standards
When the Bank conducts business with third parties, it requires its vendors and suppliers to maintain similar standards of conduct regarding the privacy of personally identifiable customer information provided to them.

Collection of Information at This Web Site
Visitors to the bank’s web site remain anonymous.  We do not collect identifying information about visitors to the site.  We may use standard software to collect non-identifying information about visitors, such as:

  • Date and time the site was accessed;
  • IP address (a numeric address given to servers connected to the Internet);
  • Web browser used;
  • City, state, and country.

The bank uses this information to create summary statistics and to determine the level of interest in information available on the site.

Visitors may elect to provide personal information via e-mail, or online registration forms.  This information is used internally, as appropriate, to handle the sender’s request.  It is not disseminated or sold to other organizations.

Some areas of the web site may use a “cookie” temporarily stored in the visitor’s computer memory (RAM) to allow the web server to log the pages used within the site and to determine previous visits, if any.
